Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:37 PM Thursday August 30, 2018 to a report of a motorcycle crash with a school bus near Rodenbug Road and Irving Park Road Schaumburg, Il. Schaumburg police discovered a crash involving a motorcycle and a school bus on Rodenburg Road near of Irving Park Road.
Police immediately called for firefighter/paramedics and shut down the intersection.
A 19 year-old motorcyclist had signs of life-threatening injuries immediately on the scene. The motorcyclist was transported to Alexian Brothers Medical Center, and pronounced dead at 4:28 p.m.
The identity of the motorcyclist was not immediately released by Schaumburg police pending notification of family.
No students were on the bus, and the bus driver was the only person on the bus when the crash occurred.
An extended accident investigation was underway Thursday afternoon and evening.
